Sometimes I suspect that privacy concerns can be self defeating. The other day I was searching Facebook on the off chance of finding some people I went to high school with. So what did I find? In one case, 164 people with that name. Only 23 of them had pictures, none of which resembled my old friend--a detail that didn't really mean that much after 43 years, mind you. Of the rest, only about 10% gave any personal information at all, beyond the standard statement about only revealing information to friends. Not very helpful if you have no way of telling if this is the one you used to know. High school and class year should probably be public for most of the older folks, given that reunion planners may just be the most likely group looking for you.
